Marathi film ‘Court’ selected as India's official entry to Oscars next year
"Court", the saga of a radical poet who is accused of waging war against the state, will represent India in the best foreign language category at the Oscars.

On the phone, Supran Sen, the secretary general of Film Federation of India said, "Court is India's entry for the Oscar nominations."

The multi-lingual arthouse drama is directed by Chaitanya Tamhane. In 2015, the film won the Best Feature Film award at the 62nd National Film Awards. The film went on to win 18 other awards at film festivals, including honours at the Mumbai, Vienna, Antalya, and Singapore film festivals.

The other top strong contenders for the coveted position were films like "Baahubali", "Bajrangi Bhaijaan", "Piku" and "NH 10".
